The Empress of Ireland is a pinnacle wreck dive. Each
year we run several dive trips to this loaction. Our mission is to provide
you with the best possible experience when diving this world class site.
This will allow you to see and explore many areas that would otherwise
take years of diving to discover, (see pictures on the Gallery
page). Your safety is always our primary objective and as a result all
dives are planned and a safety diver is on the boat at all times.
The number of possible diving days range from 6-7 days
with two possible dives on each day. All expeditions include excellent
accommodations with full kitchen facilities, all charter fees, all
breathing gas fills (there is a surcharge for trimix if requested),
all provincial permits where required, a complimentary guided orientation
dive, thorough dive briefings throughout the entire expedition, tours
of local memorial sites and the Empress of Ireland Museum, and an
excellent post expedition celebration and dinner.
While not exploring the underwater environment, we will
make sure that you don't miss out on the amazing culture and attractions
that this area has to offer. Simply put, you'll see the best of both
worlds. Don't delay in contacting us to arrange your dive and adventure
of a lifetime.
Note: Divers are required to have a base level of training
that includes advanced nitrox and decompression techniques to be eligible
to participate in any of the above expedition dates. It's also strongly
advised that DAN Master Insurance be in place.
The Gunilda is described as the best preserved wreck in
the world. Each year we run several dive trips to see her. The Gunilda
was the flagship of the New York City Yacht Club and ran aground in
1911. She was 195' in length and nearly 25 feet wide. The salvage operation
didn't go quite as planned and the Gunilda sunk in 270 feet of water
when it was pulled off the shoal. Today the Gunilda sits upright, level
and completely intact. Everything and I mean everything is still there
and the wreck is in pristine condition.
Due to the depth of this site these are advanced trimix dives. If you
are interested in this expedition or need for more information contact
me at
my email address . You will be required to have Dan Master Insurance
or an equivalent coverage. Air dives will not be permitted. You will
also need to show proof of 4 cold water dives in the 250' range in the
current season. We will arrange suitable dives for those who don't get
these in on their own. This trip will be limited to six divers. Visa
& Mastercard are accepted.
